Getting Your Branding Right by Amanda Walters
Whether your business is based around sales or not, you need to be able to sell your brand, the services you can provide or the goods you're producing, and the key way of doing this is through the way you portray the firm. In this sense, getting the branding of your company right is key because that is the one thing that will stick in the minds of everyone who visits your store, office or website. All successful businesses in the modern era quite simply have to have a well designed, well branded website in order to drive traffic and boost sales or investment. The question is, how do you make your website stand out while ensuring that your branding remains consistent and high quality in the process? It's very easy to get this wrong and go for a bright site that jumps out at visitors, but those colours aren't necessarily reflected in the company image whatsoever. Choosing a Name. When you form your company or go through a rebranding process, you really need to think long and hard about the name. It's a great idea to come up with something clever and memorable, but if it doesn't reflect what you do then you could struggle to promote it. Many choose their own name, such as John Lewis while others will make up a brand name such as Apple. Whichever you choose, you need to remember that you'll be boosting your reputation—hopefully—so think long and hard about what you want people to be talking about. Be Consistent. As touched upon previously, you need to remain consistent throughout everything you do as a company in terms of your branding. Professional design agencies such as dhub are able to do some great things with websites, far better than the people who try to do it themselves and these kind of agencies are definitely worth the investment to get your new site up and running. If your company logo is blue on a white background, you need to ensure that you reflect this on everything from the website to leaflets. Imagery. Be creative with the images you use on the site, don't just stand outside your office and take a snapshot of the logo or stand inside and photograph the shop floor, take the kind of pictures that would sell the company or the products to you. The images you choose to put on the website should also show off the company's image, whether it's fun and modern or professional, it all depends on your niche and the message you're trying to put across.
